2022 marks the 25th anniversary of Rebecca Herbst’s run as Elizabeth Webber on “General Hospital.” Believe it or not, it’s been 25 years since the character arrived in Port Charles. Since she’s on a soap opera, her life is anything but happy as she reaches this milestone. In May, she committed herself to Shadybrook, the town’s mental health facility, after realizing she has been sleepwalking while making herself look like she had a stalker for months (via Soap Central). Elizabeth wants to know if there is more going on in her mind and so do fans.
After all, her life has been anything but easy. She arrived in PC as a teenaged high school student with a chip on her shoulder who was sent to live with her grandmother, Audrey Hardy (Rachel Ames), by her absentee parents. An immediate crush on Lucky Spencer led to years of joy and heartache. There’s been a whole lot more chaos in between and after (via Soaps In Depth). Will Elizabeth Webber ever get truly lucky in love? Until we know, let’s look back on her previous attemtps.
Elizabeth found love with Ric Lansing, but Zander Smith got her pregnant

Elizabeth Webber’s next relationship was beyond toxic as all Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) could ever think about was getting revenge on his half-brother Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). However, Ric was devoted to Elizabeth and wanted to do anything to make her happy. She just had to look the other way when he committed dubious acts (via Soaps.com). One night with Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) changed her life, though. They were locked together in a crypt, and one thing led to another. Nine months later, Cameron Webber was born; after Zander was killed, he was left without a father.
Through the years, Ric would try to get back in Elizabeth’s good graces, but it never worked out. It was 2015 when Liz tried to give it a go with Ric for the last time, but it ended poorly once she learned that he hired someone to pretend to be amnesiac Jake Doe’s (Billy Miller) wife just to keep her from Jake. The night Liz learned the truth, Ric had been ready to propose (via Soaps In Depth).
